ChoreScroll Terms of Service
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms govern your use of the ChoreScroll app and website. By creating an account you agree to them. You must be 18 or older to create an account (parent accounts and Solo/Accountability Mode). Children may use ChoreScroll only through a child profile created by their parent or legal guardian, after the parent gives verifiable consent as described in our Privacy Policy and Direct Notice. The parent is responsible for the child’s use of the Service.
2. What ChoreScroll does — and its limits
ChoreScroll lets parents assign chores, verify completion through photos or an optional audio check (an automated AI review plus parent approval), and manage access to selected apps on a child’s device using Apple’s Screen Time technology. You acknowledge:
- AI verification is assistive, not authoritative. Confidence scores can be wrong in both directions. The parent (or the solo user’s configured rules) is the final decision-maker.
- App blocking depends on Apple’s Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks, iOS versions, and device settings we do not control. We do not guarantee that blocking or unlocking will function at all times, and ChoreScroll is not a substitute for parental supervision.
- A determined user may be able to circumvent device restrictions (e.g., device resets, time changes). We work to minimize this but do not warrant against it.
- ChoreScroll is a household-organization tool. It is not medical, psychological, or parenting advice.
3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing
- Plans: Solo $7.99/month or $34.99/year; Family $12.99/month or $69.99/year (Family includes Solo features). Prices may change prospectively with notice.
- Both plans start with a 7-day free trial that requires a payment card. Your card is charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before, through your Apple account settings.
- All billing is processed by Apple. Refunds are handled under Apple’s policies; we cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
- Canceling stops future charges but does not retroactively refund the current period.
4. Your content and acceptable use
- You retain ownership of photos and content you or your child submit. You grant ChoreScroll a limited license to host, process (including automated AI review), and display that content to your family, solely to provide the Service.
- Photos must show chores and household spaces. Do not attempt to submit photos of people (especially children), nudity, or anyone else’s property or personal information — the app automatically blocks chore photos that appear to contain a person, and we may remove content and suspend accounts that violate this.
- Do not misuse the Service: no reverse engineering, scraping, reselling, circumventing security, or using it to harass or harm anyone, including using blocking features against another adult without their knowledge and consent.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for keeping your credentials secure. Parents must have authority over any child device they enroll.
5. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy and, for child profiles, our COPPA Direct Notice to Parents describe what we collect and why. They are part of these Terms. We never sell personal information or use it to train AI models.
6. Intellectual property
ChoreScroll, its app, site, design, and content (excluding your content) belong to ChoreScroll, LLC and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, per the App Store terms. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with respect to the app and may enforce them against you; Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account in-app at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for us or others, or are required to be closed by law. Sections that by their nature survive (IP, disclaimers, liability limits, disputes) survive termination.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WITHOUT LIMITING SECTION 2, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT APP BLOCKING, UNLOCKING, AI VERIFICATION, OR NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHORESCROLL, LLC’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, AND WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; these apply to the fullest extent permitted.
9. Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflicts rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction — except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court in the county where you live, and either party may seek injunctive relief for misuse of the Service or infringement in any court of competent jurisdiction.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Questions: support@chorescroll.com · ChoreScroll, LLC, 5900 Balcones Drive, Ste 100, Austin, TX 78731, USA.
